Welcome to our official AFRAM web site.  We are excited about the potential for SEIU wide communication on many issues and events that are important to SEIU members of African Descent.  You can now communicate with me and other officers directly in addition to  receiving our Membership Application on line. SEIU leaders are discussing future structures, priorities and programs of our International Union. Simultaneously, the AFL-CIO and many other  International unions are doing the same.

Our National Executive Board has approved several changes which will enable us to fulfill our mission. I ask you to carefully review these changes and share your comments with us.

Dues Rates The new annual dues effective Jan, 1, 2000 is $12.00 per year for regular members and $5.00 per year for associate members.

Geographic Based Caucuses  In cities or areas where SEIU has several local unions, effective Jan. 1, 2000, AFRAM members can petition their Regional Caucus to charter a geographic based caucus.  This will allow members from different locals to  merge and combine  into a single caucus. All geographic caucuses must be approved by the National AFRAM Executive Board. This will in no way limit or deny members the opportunity to establish or maintain local union caucuses.

Expanded Representation.  New Executive Board seats have been designated for our Senior/Retired members and our Canadian/Puerto Rican member.
