The 2003 Leadership Conference of the African American Caucus (AFRAM) of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) was called to order by President Marchel Smiley at 12:01 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2003, at the Biscayne Bay Hotel, Miami, Florida.

Two hundred fifty-six (256) delegates representing thirty-four (34) SEIU Locals attended the Conference. Twenty-one (21) Locals made monetary contributions to the Conference.

The Southern Conference was represented by 53 delegates from 3 Locals.

The Eastern Conference was represented by 71 delegates from 12 Locals.

The Central Conference was represented by 23 delegates from 6 Locals.

The Western Conference was represented by 110 delegated from 13 Locals.

The Delegation brought forth eleven (11) resolutions; raised financial support for the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD), and Trans-Africa Forum.

The Conference adjourned on Monday, April 28, 2003, at 1:00 p.m.
